About Toba DM eye drops

Toba eye drop is a medication used to treat bacterial eye infections. Its main active ingredients are Dexamethasone (1mg) and Tobramycin (3mg). Combined, these two ingredients provide treatment for the eye’s post-operative disorders by lessening irritation and protecting against infection.

In addition, it helps relieve redness, itching, and swelling, which are all symptoms of bacterial overgrowth. Toba DM eye drops is a prescription-based medication that has received many good reviews among its users. Toba DM Dexamethasone (0.1%) + Tobramycin (0.3%) Eye Drop is manufactured by Sun Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd.

Uses of Toba DM eye drops

Toba DM eye drops are prescribed to patients with bacterial eye infections, such as Conjunctivitis (pink eye). The eye drops should be taken according to the instructions given by your general physician.

This medication may be used in patients with bacterial eye infections to treat steroid-responsive inflammation of the cornea, anterior segment of the globe, palpebral and bulbar conjunctiva (Conjunctivitis), and eye redness, swelling, and pain. Using the eye drop helps reduce discomfort, swelling, redness, itching, or irritation in the eyes and halts the growth of germs that cause infections.

How it works

Toba DM 10 ml eye drop contains two main active ingredients, Tobramycin and Dexamethasone. Tobramycin is an Aminoglycoside that prevents protein synthesis from preventing the development of bacteria. It attaches to the bacterium’s proteins, rupturing the cell membrane and ultimately causing cell death.

A corticosteroid, Dexamethasone, works by preventing the body from producing certain chemical messengers that cause swelling, redness, inflammation, and other allergens. Thus, the condition improves. Toba DM eye drops should be taken at the dose and for the time your physician has recommended.

How to take

Toba DM eye drops should be taken as per the directions given by your general physician. Take the following steps while using the eye drop:

  • Before and after use, properly wash your hands with water and soap
  • Tilt your head back and pull the lower eyelid down to form a small sac
  • Squeeze out one drop from the dropper after taking the recommended dosage. For roughly two to three minutes, close your eyes
  • Use a tissue to absorb any liquid that has been spilled
  • After use, you should not wipe or rinse the tip of the dropper
  • Reattach the dropper to the bottle, then secure the top

Toba DM Eye Drop is intended for external use and should be taken when prescribed by a doctor.
