Side effects of Coversyl 4mg

Most of the side effects of Coversyl 4 mg are temporary and disappear over time. You should consult your doctor if the following symptoms persist or cause discomfort:

• Body aches or pain
• Chills/ Fever
• Difficulty breathing
• Ear congestion
• Headache
• Loss of voice
• Runny nose, Nasal congestion, or Sneezing
• Cough/ Sore throat
• Unusual tiredness or weakness

Drug Interaction

Before taking Coversyl tablet, update your doctor your medical history and inform them if you are on any of the following medicines:

• Medication to treat Hypertension/ Hypotension
• Anti-Inflammatory medicines
• Potassium supplements
• Antibiotics
• Diabetes medication
• Heparin
• Medicines containing Lithium or Potassium
• Antidepressants

Disease Interaction

4 mg of Coversyl may not be the most suitable medicine to be prescribed to you if you suffer from the following conditions:

• Angioedema
• Bone marrow suppression
• Congestive Heart Failure
• Hemodialysis
• Hyperkalemia
• Hypotension

Food Interaction

Do not consume Potassium supplements/ Potassium-rich foods or salt substitutes unless your doctors prescribe them to you. 

Precautions

Coversyl 4mg is a prescription-based Anti-Hypertensive medication and should be used as prescribed by a medical professional. However, you should keep certain things in mind if you are taking this medication.

• Missed Dose: If you miss a dose of 4 mg of Coversyl Tablet, take it as soon as possible. However, skip the missed dose of the medicine if it is almost time for your next one. Refrain from compensating for the missed one by doubling the dose.
• Overdose: If you or anyone around you has accidentally overdosed on Coversyl 4 mg, consult a medical professional immediately
• Do not take Coversyl 4 mg if you are allergic to Perindopril Erbumine
• Avoid driving or operating machinery if you feel dizzy or weak after taking the medication
• Consult a doctor before taking 4 mg of Coversyl if you have kidney or liver problems
• A healthy lifestyle, exercising regularly, and losing weight, can help increase the efficacy of the medication
• Coversyl and alcohol do not go well together. It is, therefore, advisable to avoid drinking
• Reduce the amount of table salt in your diet
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, do not take this medicine without consulting your doctor first
• Doctors do not recommend Coversyl tablets for people below 18 years of age
