Side effects

Retino-A Cream is generally safe to use. If you take it as directed, it lowers the chance of any adverse effects. But a few patients might have to deal with the following:

• Rash
• Swollen Skin
• Itching
• Fever
• Unusual hoarseness
• Wheezing
• Dry skin and itching
• Hives
• Stinging and peeling
• Change in color of skin
• Red and blistered skin
• Trouble in breathing
• Swelling of face, mouth, lips, tongue, or throat
• Intense skin irritation

Interactions

Combining two or more medications can result in undesired side effects. To minimize the risk of experiencing these adverse effects, it is important to inform your doctor about your medical history and disclose any current medications you are using.

Drug interactions

The cream may interact with the following drugs:

• Immunosuppressant (Ciclosporin)
• Anti-epileptic drug (Pentobarbital, Phenobarbital)
• Antifungal (Ketoconazole)
• Water pills (Thiazides)
• Antipsychotics (Phenothiazines)
• Drugs for stomach ulcers (Cimetidine)
• Medications to reduce bleeding (Aprotinin, Aminocaproic acid, Tranexamic acid)
• Heart-related medicines (Diltiazem, Verapamil)
• Antibiotics (Erythromycin, Rifampicin, Tetracyclines, Fluoroquinolones, Sulfonamides)

Food interactions

Vitamin A combined with cod liver oil or halibut fish oil may sometimes make you more likely to have a bad reaction.

Disease interactions

Before you use Retino A .025% Cream 20 gm, you should talk to your doctor if you have Eczema or another skin problem.

Precautions

Before you use Retino-A Cream, here are a few things to keep in mind:

• Missed dose: If you forget to use Retino-A Cream, use it as soon as you remember. You shouldn’t take the missed dose if it’s almost time for the next dose. Instead, it would help if you went back to your regular schedule
• Overdose: Overdose is unlikely, as it is meant for external application. However, if accidental ingestion occurs, it is recommended to contact a doctor or a poison control center for guidance
• Exercise caution to unintentionally prevent contact with your eyes, eyelids, corners of your nose, mouth, and sensitive areas
• Avoid applying Tretinoin to very red skin or open wounds
• Adhere to your doctor’s instructions regarding the quantity of medicine to use—using more than recommended will not expedite acne resolution and can harm your skin
• Avoid applying products containing alcohol, spices, or lime to your skin, as they may cause stinging and burning sensations
• Refrain from using abrasive scrubs and other skin treatments, such as sun lamps, simultaneously if possible

Keep Retino A .025 Cream somewhere cool and dry, out of the sun, and away from children.
