• Increased liver enzymes
• Nausea
• Vomiting
• Flatulence
• Abdominal pain
• Diarrhea
• Headache
• Back pain
• Increased creatine phosphokinase (CPK) level in blood
• Inflammation of the nose

Interactions

Fenofibrate 200 is safe, but there are chances that it can interact with other drugs and diseases to show side effects. 

Drug interactions

Fenofibrate 200 can interact with a lot of other drugs. This includes medicines you get from a doctor or buy over the counter, vitamins, and herbal products.

• Crestor (rosuvastatin)
• Lipitor (atorvastatin)
• Lantus (insulin glargine)
• Plavix (clopidogrel)

Disease interactions

Following are the diseases that are known to interact with Lipicard 200:

• Biliary cirrhosis
• Cholelithiasis
• Liver disease
• Renal dysfunction
• Rhabdomyolysis

Food interactions

Fenofibrate 200 may raise the amount of nicotine in the blood and strengthen its effects. To safely use both medications, your doctor may need to change your dose or check on you more often.

Precautions

Following are the points you should keep in mind while taking Lipicard 200:

• Missed dose: Take the medicine as soon as possible, but skip the missed dose if it’s almost time for your next dose. You shouldn’t take two doses at once
• Overdose: Consult your doctor right away if you have taken any extra tablets
• Before you take Fenofibrate 200, tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are allergic to it or other “fibrates,” like Fenofibric acid, or if you have any other allergies. This product might have inactive ingredients, like soy, that can cause allergic reactions or other problems
• Before surgery, tell your doctor or dentist about everything you use (including prescription drugs, nonprescription drugs, and herbal products)
• You should only take this medicine when you need it. Talk with your doctor about the benefits and risks
• No one knows whether or not this medicine gets into breast milk. Because of the risk to the baby, you shouldn’t breastfeed while taking this drug or for five days after. Before you start breastfeeding, you should talk to your doctor

Store this medicine in a cool and dry place, below 30°C.
